This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States except for the State of Colorado, Alaska, North Dakota, or South Dakota.
Benefits:
Salary Range for all U.S. Residents (excluding Alaska, California, North Dakota, South Dakota): $73,150.00 to $105,925.00
Salary Range for California Residents Only : $94,710.00 to $137,145.00

The Senior Database Admin is responsible for the planning, designing, configuration, testing, and maintenance of components of Blackhawk Network’s business critical IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain the database infrastructure, performing patching and migration as needed
  • Design, develop and maintain database schemas and database objects including stored procedures, functions, triggers and views
  • Monitoring and tuning database performance from SQL to infrastructure
  • Managing the database's storage structures
  • Making database backups, performing recovery when necessary
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art technical solutions
  • Provide technical assistance for the day to day running of the business
  • Create runbooks, provide guidance to other areas of the business
  • Work on projects designed to implement solutions to simplify the IT infrastructure
  • Work with other internal teams to ensure critical infrastructure projects progress as per plan
  • Assist other business partners and application owners to ensure their application is highly available
  • Install, configure and be the SME on various database technologies and platforms
  • Learn new technologies and stay up-to-date on database solutions for IT infrastructure
  • Providing leadership to 3rd parties to implement IT project work
  • Communicate (written/verbal) with management, key users, and external vendors
  • Build and maintain key relationships with other IT teams, internal departments such as Infosec, Compliance, and other external partners
  • Troubleshoot issues to find root cause, and participate in corrective action/preventive action measures to remediate issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide on-call support as required
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience designing, developing and managing enterprise-level databases Microsoft SQL Server.
  • 4+ years’ experience with Data Warehouse, Data Management Reporting including dashboard development
  • 4+ years’ experience designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery for database platforms
  • 4+ years’ experience with ETL tools like MSFT SSIS and Business Intelligence tools like Power BI
  • 1+ years’ experience with cloud hosted databases
  • Experience with Netezza and Imperva product lines are a plus
  • Experience with Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, MongoDB desirable, MySQL
  • Strong understanding of data engineering, structure, formatting, conditioning, and analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or active similar level database certification
