GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP, Total Rewards, the Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits will be a key member of the Total Rewards team and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Company's compensation programs and the oversight of benefits-related programs and activities to attract, retain, and motivate talent. This role works closely with other HR staff and other leaders to review and update existing compensation and benefits policies and ensure the organization complies with existing legislation. This role will present the opportunity to contribute analytically and to also utilize appropriate cross-functional skills to work across the organization, devise and maintain a compensation and benefits model and generate data driven insights that can fuel the growth of Lendmark Financial Services.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compensation Management

  • Responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, communication, and overall management of the company’s compensation programs in alignment with the market and with the Company’s compensation philosophy.
  • Operates as primary advisor and technical expert providing consulting support on compensation-related matters, including providing advice on pay decisions, policy interpretations, job evaluations, programs, and approaches, identifying needs, development of solutions and delivering solutions to the company.
  • Develops an effective communication approach to ensure that the compensation programs are fully understood, consistent throughout the business and appropriately valued by employees and management.
  • Provides expert advice on performance management processes to improve the link between compensation and performance, and to ultimately improve productivity.
  • Manages the annual merit process, including detailed project planning, communication planning, risk analysis and audit.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of the Company’s existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and Company objectives.
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data and uses data to perform compensation forecasting, supports planning and budgeting processes and perform financial analysis and projections for preparation of funding related to compensation.
  • Proactively monitors the Company’s compensation strategy, policies, and procedures to ensure practices for pay equity comply with federal, state, and local legal laws.
  • Tracks compensation benchmarking data.
  • Participates in and analyzes salary surveys and other information sources to ensure a competitive compensation structure.
  • Complies with all federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising leadership on needed action.
  • Employs a proactive approach to the identification and implementation of trends and best practices. Recommends changes and new proposals for compensation programs based on the assessment of Company needs.
  • Presents compensation exception requests to the Chief Administrative Officer and EVP, Human Resources for consideration.
  • Partners with Communications Department to create effective compensation-related communications for managers and employees.
  • Maintains a central repository of all compensation plans and other materials.
  • Manages issues that are raised by Plan participants which may require escalation to executive management

Benefits Management

  • Responsible for providing thought leadership, strategic planning and evaluating Lendmark’s benefits programs against market trends and best practices within the industry and providing recommendations.
  • Drives the design of benefits plans and programs, working with the Benefits Manager and VP, Total Rewards, and other leaders.
  • Participates in the annual benefit renewal process evaluating and analyzing the renewal as presented by the vendors and benefits broker. Supports with the coordination, planning and communication of open enrollment.
  • Leads a team of benefit professionals responsible for the day-to day administration of the company’s group benefits programs (medical dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, flexible spending, health savings account, Wellness program, EAP, 401 (k) etc,
  • Leads in the Monitoring Financial Monitoring (FMR) reports from actuarial firm to stay abreast of medical, pharmacy and dental trends and any escalating concerns associated with trends.

Leads in reviewing benefits vendor contracts and agreements to ensure standards are met as agreed, performance indicators are set, monitored, measured and evaluated annually.

  • Partners with benefits team to support with managing key vendor relationships, including benefits broker.
  • Manages Company risk relative to position.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 10+ years in human resources. Minimum 6 years managing compensation and benefits programs and 5+ years leading teams and demonstrating progressive knowledge.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with compensation and benefits plan design, principles, and best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing Total Rewards programs from inception to execution.
  • Formal leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience preparing metrics for leadership meetings.
  • Thorough knowledge of FLSA, DOL, ADA, EEO and other regulatory and compliance requirements related to compensation and benefits.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
  • Strong MS Word and PowerPoint skill proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Customer Service focused.
  • Must demonstrate ability to build relationships, gain credibility, influence, and partner with leaders at all levels
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and communicate the meaning of measures and metrics.
  • Ability to evaluate, design and recommend compensation, benefits & HRIS programs.
  • Must possess strong communication, negotiation and listening skills to build solutions in a collaborative way.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • HRIS Reporting capabilities, preferably within Workday

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Financial services experience
  • Project management leadership experience
  • CCP – Certified Compensation Professional designation

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Primarily located in office environment (Gwinnett)
  • Travel: Less than 10%
