Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for the results of industry analytics associated with industry labor contracts. This includes providing instruction and oversight and participating in the evaluation of complex issues involving labor contracts, economics, industry landscape, and Southwest’s labor strategy. Oversees the daily activities and priorities of direct reports performing analytical activities. May serve as a part of the Negotiation Team and perform other duties as directed.

Responsibilities
Direct supervisory responsibility to oversee projects assigned to direct reports
Oversee the completion of requests from Lead negotiators and other Labor Relations Leaders
Responsible for understanding the strategic objectives of the Labor Relations organization to ensure work is prioritized accordingly
Oversee analytical illustrations and insights in support of Labor communications
Contribute to educating Executive Leadership on the labor cost impact of the SWA business model and competitive advantages and disadvantages of SWA labor contracts vs. industry
Act as a Labor Relations subject matter expert with negotiating Teams and attend negotiations and provide executive presentations and explanations on complex issues and projects
Interview, hire, develop, and Lead a Team of up to 5 Employees
Collaborate with colleagues within Labor Relations and between Company departments to ensure alignment
Maintain awareness of ongoing changes in the Labor climate and communicate to Labor Relations Sr Leadership on both short- and long-term impact to SWA Labor practice
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge of the airline industry
Skilled in verbal and nonverbal communication
Skilled in demonstrating flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment
Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and advise on recommended solutions
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to understand industry events and their potential impact on the department
Ability to understand financial statements and corporate financial metrics
Ability to handle high stress situations while demonstrating a self-aware and balanced perspective
Ability to foster conditions that enable CoHearts to contribute positively to a Team environment that promotes sharing, collaboration, and accountability
Ability to present findings and defend analysis with department Leadership and with Unions at the negotiating table
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
Expert-level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
Economic and financial analysis
Business, finance, or strategy
The aviation/transportation industry
Previous Pilot experience
Labor Relations from an FPNA perspective is a plus
Experience with Aviation Labor negotiations preferred
Experience with strategic Forecasting is preferred
Strong verbal and written communication
Licensing/Certification
N/A
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
May be required to work extended hours per Leader’s request
