Summary

The St. Ann KDO Program Director is responsible for leading and developing the Little Saints Kids Day Out Program and Fun Friday Kids Day Out Program. These ministries are way so that it serves as an opportunity to connect families to the life of the church.

Job Description

The following list includes, but is not limited to:

  • Develop the culture of the ministry to support the mission and vision of St. Ann Catholic Church through the St. Ann KDO Program.
  • Regularly observes and participates within the classroom setting.
  • Develops a relationship with the teachers through active support.
  • Works in collaboration with Director of Religious Education to provide creative resources for parents on their child’s spiritual growth.
  • Works with Parish Communications Specialist to develop and implement a welcome procedure for new families being welcomed into the ministry and parish.
  • Greets families at the start of the day and ensures the environment is welcoming.
  • Creates and develops branding through ministry publications and promotional materials for the ministry to communicate the vision.
  • Oversees and coordinates a Meet & Greet for children to meet their teachers.
  • Ensures families who enroll after the start of the year, receive the same start-of-the year welcome with appropriate forms and “Meet & Greet” packets
  • Coordinates enrollment and interest of/into the ministry, maintaining a personal connection with the parent.
  • Oversee staff of the ministry
  • Recruit, hire, train KDO staff and substitutes with Pastor and Director of Religious Education.
  • Ensures staff are following policies and procedures of the ministry; addresses these as needs, support the teachers as they implement the curriculum chosen.
  • Supervises KDO staff in planning and implementing the use of the curriculum provided, including the approval of lesson plans. Develops and trains staff on the daily routine of the children.
  • Ensures age appropriate activities are selected and teachers are following guidelines of the Archdiocese.
  • Equip and train the staff throughout the year to encourage their growth spiritually and their growth as a leader.
  • Leads staff retreats for encouragement, planning, evaluation, and team building (Summer, Fall, and Spring Retreats held, at minimum).
  • Conducts employee performance reviews on a yearly basis and seeks counsel of Director of Religious Education and Pastor for employment, supervision, and termination of employees.
  • Provides resources and ways to creatively engage the teachers to grow in their relationship with Christ. Ministers to staff by acknowledgement of birthdays.
  • Begins the day and emphasizes the importance of prayer as a team.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Religious Education and Pastor in the choosing the KDO curriculum annually to ensure it fits the vision of St. Ann.
  • Serve as a bridge to the families who attend and coordinate with the Ministry Leaders on events that are developed to encourage meaningful connection.
  • Maintains the vision of the ministry through events planned with the purpose of connecting with parents, equipping, or celebrating with them in the season they are in (Ex: Thanksgiving Lunch, Promotion Ceremony).
  • Creates an atmosphere within the ministry of an outreach to the families enrolled and communicates relevant church event information to invite them to events.
  • Creates and ensures regular communication with parents is occurring thru newsletters. Encourages involvement of the parents of the ministry through volunteer opportunities
  • Oversee Day-to-day management of the KDO Program.
  • Works alongside the Finance Council President to create, submit, and oversee the budget for the Mother’s Day Out ministry.
  • Assists Director of Religious Education in coordinating annual youth programs fundraising event.
  • Assists the Director of Religious Education with various events throughout the year including but not limited to Santa Brunch, Easter Brunch, Vacation Bible School, etc. KDO director will also help promote these events to the families enrolled in the program.
  • Provide a report to finance council meetings and attend quarterly or as directed by pastor.
  • Maintains information files that include medical and other personal data on each employee and child.
  • Creates and maintains a handbook for parent’s regarding the ministry and policies for parents. Update the handbook as needed.
  • Meets monthly with the parish office staff. Attends staff meetings. Attends trainings as needed. Ensure all safe environment mandates are implemented and followed as directed by the Archdiocese of San Antonio for all volunteers involved in the St. Ann KDO Program.
  • Manages and maintains all tuition fees and records.
  • Director may assign assistant to assist in this however is responsible for working with parish bookkeeper to make deposits, and request checks.
  • Assists in parish office duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by Pastor
Requirements:

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferably
