We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team that has the desire to learn and grow while working directly with the Controller. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, has a sense of self-awareness, confident, does well under pressure, has ability to multitask, and anticipative. The job requires that work be done at a steady, consistent, and unhurried pace. Being more conceptual than detail-oriented, the work requires a broad viewpoint and determination to achieve results.

Experience:

We are looking for someone who has experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks and a strong understanding of all Microsoft Office programs. The right applicant will also have knowledge and experience in assisting with financial reporting and budget management such as month-end close, journal entries, AP, cost accounting, accruals, and cash flows. This person will also oversee the company's accounting operations, including its production of financial reports, proper upkeep of a sufficient accounting records system. A candidate with experience working for construction companies is highly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Utilize Excel, Word, NetSuite, and Mineral Tree for all functions relating to accounting
• Review and submit tenant improvement reimbursements as needed
• Prepare and submit construction draws to lender
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts and prepared financials monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Review and record transactions for multiple locations
• Calculate and process sales tax
• Review and reconcile intercompany charges monthly
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Additional duties as needed

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Maintain and organize all vendor files on Google Drive (ie COI, new vendor packets, W-9)
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and support management with projects, as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting and 10+ years of experience in accounting/accounts payable experience OR
• Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field and 15+ years of experience
• Project Accounting and construction experience highly desired
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or NetSuite a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Team player willing to learn new tasks
• Remote and Independent experience required
• Must be capable of handling sensitive and confidential information

Physical Requirements:

• The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate weight up to 30 pounds.
• The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
• Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
• Full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.
