Staff Accountant Position near Jasper, Alabama

Position: Staff Accountant

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team ! As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including but not limited to financial analysis, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Participate in internal and external audit processes.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to accounting and finance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software [ERP] and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPA certification (preferred but not required).
