Responsibilities

PRIMARY:

Financial management of the assigned construction projects in our project costing and accounting software, including but not limited to setting up the project, entering the budget, managing commitments, managing cash, entering direct costs, and processing and submitting change orders.

  • Perform daily / month end accounting responsibilities for the assigned projects actively under construction.
  • Collects, reviews, and processes subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices, ensuring proper job coding.
  • Prepare and submit draw packages to lenders and finance agencies for assigned projects monthly.
  • Maintain open lines of communications with all project managers, purchasing team, vendors, subcontractors and lender contacts.
  • Work with construction department management in preparation of the bi-weekly payment cycle for trade partners and investigating any invoice variances from approved POs/contracts etc.
  • Ensure timely payment of all contracts and vendors
  • Collect and review project subcontractor / supplier lien waivers
  • Maintain open lines of communications with project management team
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including ad hoc and reporting


Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    • Real estate development/construction knowledge (preferred)
  • 1-2 years Public Accounting (Preferred) or related private industry experience
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • A self-starter individual who can multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic


Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position are related to a standard office environment. Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen, and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to hear, talk, reach, stoop, or kneel, and sit; must be able to walk for extended periods of time under various weather conditions to evaluate the property. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
