Staff Accountant (Ecommerce/Textiles/Furniture)

Job summary

We are seeking a driven staff accountant to support preparation and maintenance of our organization’s financial information by supporting account reconciliation, managing day-to-day accounting operations, and other related financial activities.

What you’ll do

• Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting systems for financial transactions for all US and International corporate entities

• Maintain the general ledger, recording cash receipts/disbursements and financial transactions for all corporate entities, including the accounting for intercompany transactions

• Prepare the month-end accruals and proper account classification of all activity

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and the account reconciliations

• Assist with the monthly review of financial statements and preparation of management discussion and analysis of variances from budget

• Assist with the preparation of financial and cash flow budgets, along with preparation of financial forecasts

• Streamline AR function by developing and documenting procedures to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the revenue collections cycle

• Streamline AP function by developing and documenting procedures to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the vendor disbursements and internal expense reporting

• Support the team on month-end close procedures

• Prepare accounts receivable and payable reports, analyzing the data and recognizing the trends for improvement of cash collection and disbursement metrics

• Preparation of sales tax returns and compliance with governmental reporting requirements and documentation retention

• Provide other accounting and financial support as needed

• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience

• Superb computer skills, including expertise with Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Microsoft Navision is a strong plus

• CPA certification is a plus, but not required
