Position Definition:
The incumbent will serve as the Clinical Research Coordinator for one or more research projects and will provide day-to-day study coordination activities for research studies related to conditions including but not limited to Gulf War Illness (GWI), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), dementia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and sleep.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create study protocol, consent forms and other materials requiring IRB approval
- Obtain UCSF, VA and other regulatory approvals required to begin and continue study operations
- Coordinate the daily study operations
- Oversee systems for tracking / monitoring study progress to ensure adherence to timelines, SOPs, and applicable regulations
- Maintain essential research study documentation
- Oversee recruitment of study participants to ensure adherence to the enrollment goals
- Responsible for providing and documenting Informed Consent
- Schedule and conduct assessment study visits and administer study procedures per protocol
- Coordinate with other team members to schedule additional study-related activities such as polysomnography recordings, clinical interviews, neuropsychological performance measures and magnetic resonance imaging scans.
- Maintain rapport with each participant and will assist him or her with all study procedures.
- Prepare regular progress reports for funding agencies
- Organize and chair study meetings and provide status updates to principal investigator
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in psychology or related fields preferred
- Computer literacy with emphasis on Windows operating systems and software applications
- Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
