Job description

The Newport Plain Talk seeks a full-time general assignment reporter. The ideal candidate will have experience in covering breaking news for multiple platforms, developing and following stories. An interest in blogging and a desire to write, in fresh and alternative ways, about businesses, people and community events is important. Taking photos and video to accompany stories is part of the reporter’s duties. Reporters must be able to balance longer enterprise reporting with shorter deadline stories and briefs.

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
