• $15.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist graduate students with various research projects
• Manage inventory and places orders for lab supplies within the Jaggaer system
• Keep lab stocked with commonly used items
• Place orders for items needed by the post docs and the graduate students
• Support administrative assistant with Jaggaer matters, including receipting of orders, reviewing of status of orders
• Contact vendors with questions regarding availability and fulfillment
• Perform general housekeeping of the laboratory and operations of the laboratory equipment, such as centrifuge, flow cytometer, incubators, and water bath
• Autoclaves biohazard trash and proper disposal of trash
• Prepares stains, reagents, drugs, and buffers
• Assists graduate students with various procedures, consisting of o Protein quantification o Western blot o Flow cytometry o Spectrophotometry o Confocal microscopy o Cell culture o Cell lysate
• Fill and autoclaves pipet tip boxes as well as autoclaves water for common use - (Essential)

Required Competencies

• Majoring in a STEM related field
• Experience in a laboratory setting through work or education experience

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills
• Available to work through summer semester
