The University of New England College of Dental Medicine (UNE CDM) is seeking a student-centered candidate to join our team as Student Services Coordinator. With keen eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional service, the Student Services Coordinator plays an important role in the college through administrative coordination and support of student affairs operations. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
The Student Services Coordinator will carry out assigned daily administrative and operational duties related to supporting students, programs and services, and other key administrative functions that promote the College’s academic mission in a student-centered environment. Responsibilities of the position will include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries from students and other constituents.
- Track students’ attendance and assist with resolving issues and policy compliance questions.
- Assist students and alumni with requests for educational verification documents for a variety of purposes.
- Maintain accurate paper and electronic records consistent with records retention policies and FERPA.
- Assist with monitoring student responsibilities for clinical eligibility.
- Serve as a proctor for students approved for testing accommodations.
- Provide administrative support to designated College-level committees and administrators.
- Assist with planning and logistical support for College events and programming, including new student orientation.
- Assist with maintaining a variety calendars and other key date documents.
- Network with other coordinators and student services areas within the College and University.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Confer regularly with immediate supervisor, department/University personnel, and relevant outside organizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in higher education, a medical or dental organization, or similar customer service-oriented environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel, and Google Docs
- Experience in student or academic affairs desirable with the ability maintain calm and professional demeanor
- Previous experience in organizing and maintaining moderately complex filing and record-keeping systems (paper and electronic) consistent with FERPA
- Ability to build strong professional relationships and problem solve in a team-based environment
- Strong commitment to providing excellent, student-centric customer service.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities within a dynamic environment.
- In addition, the individual must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities, or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
