Salary:$40,000 / year
The Studio Art Specialist II implements arts based program services, exhibitions, and sales. Provide individual and group studio facilitation to artists at Gateway Arts Studio Art Center. Through assessment and development of service delivery goals funding source requirements, work in partnership with artists to improve artistic skills and self-determination within the studios, as well as in artistic, social, and community activities.
The Studio Art Specialist II has a range of duties including:
- Utilize Outlook to plan adequate studio coverage and daily scheduling.
- Provide coverage/assistance, as needed, to support opening and closing of facility, staffing escorts into and out of facility, daily coverage responsibilities, and general upkeep and maintenance of the Studio Art Center.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision. Provide assistance in the orientation of new staff and artists. Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor and co-workers to promote the reliable functioning of the Studio Art Center.
- Work at annual events during evenings or weekends, as assigned.
- Review Quality Behavioral Competencies at least twice a month. Participate, prepare, complete, and sustain all written documentation, data, drills, contracts, and trainings required by licensing, funding sources, and Vinfen, and mandated in the HCSIS state database.
- Promote a supportive and empowering service environment in which artists learn to advocate for themselves, make their own choices, take risks, and assume additional responsibilities within the Art Studios.
- Case manage individuals with responsibility of maintaining the records and contact information, preparing for annual and team meetings, writing reports, and working on behalf of the individual and coordinate with the artist, family members, residential supports, service coordinators, and other provider agencies and affiliates. Participate in case management meetings, trainings, and supervision, and monitor attendance.
- Facilitate studio production and manage all aspects of studio operations, including, but not limited to: ordering materials and supplies, producing/finishing/collecting/pricing/stocking and storing artwork.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- CPR and First Aid may be required within two weeks of hire
- Safety Care may be required within 90 days of hire
- Other training as assigned

- Knowledge of formal and informal assessment practices and fundamentals in studio art
- Knowledge and use of problem solving skill
- Ability to act as a positive role model for work and learning
