Job description
The Town of Medfield is seeking applicants for our Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator. The Substance Use Prevention Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of Medfield Outreach and the Medfield Cares About Prevention Coalition Leadership Team and will coordinate the daily operation of the coalition. They will facilitate coalition communication, data collection, report preparation and submission into various platforms, research, training, the distribution of materials and information to the community via media (including social media platforms) and other opportunities, and any coalition sponsored activities.
This position will partner with the MCAP Leadership Team and all subcommittees/sectors to engage youth and adults in prevention work and will plan and implement prevention strategies within the community of Medfield using an environmental approach to support the mission of the coalition.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in prevention work, health promotion, public health, social work, or any related field; Ability and proven experience in maintaining positive, effective collaborations and partnerships with a wide variety of individuals including youth agencies, business and faith communities, boards, and fellow workers. Experience with coalition work, community organizing, program development, substance use disorder, behavioral health, or work in the human service field preferred.
This position is currently 19 hours per week but has the potential to become full time within a year. The position is grant funded. There are two years remaining on this current 5 year grant and we anticipate a grant renewal at the completion of that timeframe. Compensation is $30-$35/hr.
