Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager of Lincoln Tunnel, the selected candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Tunnel operations and revenue collection. Among the many responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and administering a large diverse workforce consisting of Toll Collectors,Tunnel & Bridge Agents, Security Guards and Supervisory staff. The selected candidate will also be responsible for: scheduling; absence control; discipline; motivation and problem resolution; labor relation issues; human resource matters; ensuring quality customer service and the proper handling of customer complaints; preparing and monitoring the unit's performance measures; overseeing traffic management and control; identifying problems and developing solutions for issues that impact the unit; handling multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities; overseeing the functional performance of the staff listed above; and planning for future operational programs and projects in conjunction with appropriate staff. The successful candidate will also be the Vaccine Coordinator for the Operations Unit and will be LT's PM rush hour coordinator who will communicate & coordinate traffic conditions closely with Bus Terminal staff. The incumbent may be required to work/respond during off hours for special events, emergencies, construction projects and/or weather related events.

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Must be eligible to hold a Service B level position
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Demonstrated substantial knowledge of facility operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and interruptions while maintaining effectiveness and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience providing supervision and leadership to staff
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills including experience in handling/resolving personnel situations and matters affecting unionized personnel
  • Demonstrated strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to compile, analyze and interpret data related to operational performance measures, utilizing Budget Pro, ScheduleSoft, Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Demonstrated familiarity of PAI's, AP's, HRP's, TWU and USWU Memoranda of Agreement and operational policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated strong administrative experience
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing/coordinating facility construction related activities;
  • Demonstrated organizational and record-keeping skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize assignments;
  • Ability to read, extract information and plan work from architectural, civil, structural, electrical and mechanical drawings, maps, and manuals.
  • Demonstrated experience in timely review of engineering plans
