Accountability and Scope

The Supervisor, Warehouse is accountable for supervising assigned warehouse personnel, functions, and activities, which may include one or more of the following areas: Receiving, Pulling, Bagging, Shipping, Kits & Government, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and/or as applicable, Facility departments and personnel. Oversight includes, but is not limited to ensuring all products are received in good condition; traceability is secured; documentation and handling of product is in accordance to ISO9100; products are stored and preserved appropriately; and packaged, shipped, labeled and/or assembled in accordance with Wesco standards, and customer requirements; as well as periodic and annual cycles counts, as applicable. The Supervisor, Warehouse will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities, personnel, training and certification renewal procedures and records; as well as continuously evaluating the Warehouse efficiencies, staff, and work assignments to meet or exceed Wesco’s Quality commitment to provide on-time and error-free management and delivery of products to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong, up-to-date knowledge of Wesco products and customers
  • Maintain and apply accurately an expert level of knowledge and understanding of Wesco Warehouse work instructions, policies, and procedures in all warehousing functions and decisions
  • Monitor and supervise all work activities involving receipt of products, documentation (certifications, forms, correspondence, and database entries), and ensure all responsibilities of assigned functional warehouse departments are performed in compliance with Wesco Quality Management System procedures, processes, and/or Wesco Work Instructions
  • Ensure that all product packaging, storage/preservation, traceability, and shipping policies are adhered to within the warehouse to ensure compliance with order/customer requirements and that operational goals are met
  • Coordinate, schedule, and delegate responsibilities and assignments to warehouse personnel within your functional scope of management
  • Participate and supervise inventory cycle counts, warehouse audits, inspections, tours, and any 3rd party vendors that are onsite, as required
  • Interact professionally through various forms of communication with coordinating department supervisors, managers, and employees across the organization to ensure all internal and external customer requirements are met
  • For Receiving- Run and print Stock Transfer (ST/OT) reports to ensure everything is being received into the inventory

  • For Inventory Control - ensure accuracy for all inventory by managing cycle counting, stock transfer processes/traceability, and reconciling inventory discrepancies
  • Perform the functions of, and train and develop the skills of warehouse personnel to effectively perform root cause analysis to address discrepancies in resolving procedural, systematic, customer, and/or product issues
  • Provide resolutions and justifications for internal and/or external discrepancies as it pertains to product specifications, warehousing, documentation, or shipment issues
  • Ensure training requirements for new and transferred employees are met for all processes, procedures, including safety, security, and equipment, in alignment with department and facility work instructions and AS/ ISO requirements, as required
  • Maintain, audit, and approve employee timekeeping records and submit to Payroll, as scheduled
  • Perform daily order status reports (QBE); or run daily cycle count reports for department or work site as required
  • Provide monthly productivity numbers for functional areas of responsibility to appropriate management personnel
  • Utilize daily reporting data and discrepancy tracking methods to support strategies of process improvement from development stages to implementation and maintenance
  • Prepare effective and timely performance evaluations, conduct reviews, administer salary adjustments, promotions or disciplinary actions and facilitate additional training or mentoring as, needed, driving maximum productivity and quality of processes, systems and procedures, in accordance with budgetary restrictions and compensation policies
  • Conduct regular and impromptu employee meetings, and attend company-sponsored supervisory or training meetings, as required
  • Operate Wesco vehicle to transport material to and from specified locations, as licensed, as assigned
  • Communicate and train employees, and assist management with implementing strategies for compliance with established standards for quality, safety and productivity, and established policies and procedures
  • Support organizational and operations efforts to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations including OSHA, DOT, IATA, and RCRA (as applicable to the facility)

    Qualifications


    Education, Experience and Qualifications

    • Education High School Diploma or GED is required Associates Degree and/or college coursework/ trade certifications in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, is preferred
    • Experience Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in multiple functions of warehouse or inventory management departments, with a minimum of 1 year within a lead position required Proven knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehousing activities, including governmental regulations and ITAR

    Demonstrated knowledge and application of AS9100 standard and procedures

    Demonstrated leadership and administration skills and abilities

    Demonstrated strong motivational skills and effective team building capabilities

    Demonstrated ability to teach and train varying levels of employees by utilizing multiple methods of training and resources (such as on the job training, reading materials, testing, etc.) to ensure compliance with Wesco Work Instructions, specific customer requirements, and safety requirements

    Proven ability to be alert and aware of safety issues, identify opportunities for improvement, implement and communicate safeguards, and apply safety standards at all times
