Responsible for making and implementing recommendations for improvements in overall cycle/lead-time reduction, materials management and replenishment, production planning & scheduling, inventory management, MRO management, and capacity management that positively affect supply chain management and customer satisfaction.

Main Responibilities

Materials management:

• Takes physical inventories and provides raw material inventory status monthly or as required.
• Runs MRP based inventory-planning system to project future demand requirements for standard raw materials, and requisitions items as needed to maintain targeted inventory levels.
• Maintain records of purchasing activity in compliance with Ahlstrom established standard practices and procedures to assure compliance with regulatory standards which may have impact on Health, Safety, Environment, ISO and OSHA.
• Manage “pro-card” purchases for the stores function as well as contracted maintenance inventory services for Class “C” stock items.
• Holds blanket orders for bulk chemicals, as well as several miscellaneous chemicals, and releases as required. Confirms products are on hand to meet paper machines schedules.
• Recommend changes in procedures, equipment selection, parts modifications or substitution, or changes of material, where problems of quality, safety, operation, maintenance or cost have been identified. Recommend solutions to solve maintenance problems and reduce maintenance costs.
• Provide oversight for all Stores operations, scheduling coverage as required to support maintenance and production requirements.
• Work closely with buyers, accounting, receiving, manufacturing and logistics regarding changes in the production schedule.
• Notifies receiving of clean bulk storage tank requirements. Responsible for hygiene of tanks and ensures they are cleaned and sterilized as needed.
• Invoice to PO matching as required, clarification of quantity/pricing discrepancies
• Learn and fill in as necessary as a planner for the paper machines and winders
• Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
• Close collaboration with allocated plant buyers
• Monthly updates of aTrack as required for involved purchase

Leads/Participates in lean and kaizen activities.

Required Competencies

• High degree of PC computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, data download, data manipulation) is essential.
• Must be able to balance multiple assignments by establishing priorities
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• MRP planning experience required.
• SAP or similar ERP system experience
• Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for his/her own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks
