As a Support Partner you will be providing direct support in partnership with people with disabilities, on a one-to-one basis, in their own homes and communities. Services include direct support in the form of community involvement and/or accommodation with all activities of daily living including personal care, communication, transportation and inclusive social and recreational activities.
We are looking to partner with people who are creative, energetic and like to have fun. We are looking for people who want to ensure that ALL people's rights are secured, that people can live a self-determined life and who believe in equity!
This is a very rewarding position, perfect for someone with an interest in special education, psychology, sociology, social work; and all related fields. Personal or professional experience with people with intellectual disabilities and a mental health diagnosis is a plus but not a requirement.
PART-TIME SCHEDULE:
3pm-9pm Monday, Wednesday, and other Friday
4pm-9pm every other Saturday
DETAILS of PERSON SUPPORTED:
A very sociable woman is seeking support and mentoring to help her live an everyday life in her home and community. This woman is seeking support in her Narberth home after being picked up from her day program (except for Saturdays). She is looking for a staff-person to assist her in activities of daily living and maintaining her home life (cleaning, shopping and meal prep). She loves music, arts & crafts, reading and going to see musicals. She enjoys going out to the library to take out her favorite books and movies (especially James Patterson!). If you enjoy these types of things too, this could be a great match for you! The ideal staff will be able to multitask, organize and participate in this woman’s preferred activities. We are looking to build a team of supporters who are outgoing, energetic, sociable, and patient, who will ensure that this woman lives her best, safe and happy everyday life.
