Basic Function

Perform and direct major engineering projects and technical services requiring original analysis and solutions in energy transition, decarbonization, New Energies(H2/NH3), renewables (solar, wind, hydrogen, hydro, geothermal), asset decarbonization, carbon capture , decarbonization policy, sustainable financing, carbon offsets, carbon audit and/or carbon modelling. Apply engineering expertise in one of the engineering disciplines to solve technical problems relating to any of the Saudi Aramco upstream activities related to sustainability. Work on complex engineering problems, designs, projects, and may review engineering work performed by others. May coordinate or direct work of other engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate major studies in areas of sustainability based upon objectives and requirements established by Management by interpreting scope, initiating new studies or applied technical work as required and directing and performing all phases of the study through formal summary reports and presentation to Management and Owner Company technical personnel
• Consult with and provide technical guidance to Management and related engineering groups on matters which fall into his/her area of expert technical competence including budget studies, development programs, reservoir studies and equipment purchases and studies
• Review activities of various phases of Saudi Aramco upstream engineering activities and reports on adequacy and efficiency of performance; recommend initiation of or re-direction of new or existing studies and related technical work toward improving operating efficiencies, reduce unit costs and promote better understanding of oil field producing and reservoir behavior and characteristics
• Serve as consultant in preparing policy recommendations for Management concerning procedures and scope of data and information to be furnished to the governmental and other outside agencies; make final review of accuracy and nature of data for release to safeguard the company’s best interests, procedures and equipment in North America and other foreign countries
• Keep current on engineering, research, mechanical and operational and recommends adaptation and application of those that can be used advantageously in Aramco's area of operations
• Review work of engineers directed on projects where additional manpower has been assigned
• Assist in training and indoctrination of new engineering personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Sustainable, Chemical, Environmental, Petrochemical); Masters Preferrable
• Nine (9) to Ten (10) years’ experience, such that incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert in his/her field
• 6+ years of experience in in energy transition, decarbonization, New Energies(H2/HNH3), renewables (solar, wind, hydrogen, hydro, geothermal), asset decarbonization, carbon capture , decarbonization policy, sustainable financing, carbon offsets, carbon audit and/or carbon modelling for oil & gas sector
• Knowledge in GHG emissions calculations, factors, policies, standards and regulations
• Experience in implementation of Energy Efficiency projects
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend English accurately, clearly and concisely at a level required to perform the job as outlined
• Ability to prepare highly technical reports and memoranda; be able to make oral/graphic presentations to all levels of management
• The initiation, development and completion of major engineering studies require a high degree of intelligence and imagination and comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of Sustainability, Process Engineering; incumbent is recognized as an expert in one or more of the areas of Engineering and can serve as Consultant, Coordinator or Project Engineer on assigned projects; position often requires original and unique approach and solution to difficult and diversified engineering problems
• Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
