Description:This position is with our Advanced Development Program (ADP), known as the historic Skunk Works, in Palmdale, CA. We are looking for world-class talent for this position to join the 75+ year tradition of creating advanced aircraft.
The individual is responsible for management of an ADP System Design team in Palmdale, CA. The manager will be required to support a large team 20+ individuals deployed to an ADP program. The selected individual will be responsible for all leadership support of program personnel as well as direct tasking to maintain a roughly 50/50 leadership and technical workload. The position will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of program management, the customer, other IPTs, and their managed team. Supervisory duties will include process definition and compliance, staffing, performance management, training, and career planning for team members. Administrative duties could include project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Technical duties will include system modeling, requirements decomposition, and support of technical reviews. Knowledge of tactical fighter aircraft design and operations as well as experience leading a team is desired. Previous system design experience is preferred, and knowledge of object-oriented concepts and the use of the UML and/or SYSML are desired.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science (STEM)
- Final Secret Clearance investigation within the last 5 years
- Demonstrated experience with the Systems Engineering Lifecycle
- Experience with digital Systems Engineering tools, such as DOORS/Rhapsody and/or Cameo/MagicDraw
- Exceptional communication and expectation setting skills with LM and customer executive level personnel, colleagues and team members
- System Architecture and Design experience
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
- People or project leadership experience
- Experience using Vemo Resource Management
