Position Description
This role is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems’ hardware/software and related infrastructure. This role will analyze and identify all or part of the existing or new computer (and/or server), peripheral, and network systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs of the Sponsor.
Responsibilities
· Maintain the virtual environment and Cisco UCS blade infrastructure
· Purchase new equipment and annual licensing/maintenance renewals while maintaining capital and operational budgetary requirements
· Manage a windows domain environment
· Manage Exchange O365 and support the continued effort to move additional collaboration services to O365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
· Create technology road maps; set and shape the direction of the compute environment.
· Install new/rebuild existing servers and workstations, building and deployment of systems images, and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
· Monitor and manage daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media/locations
· Provide support per request from team members and system users. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
· Repair and recover from hardware or software failures using root cause analysis practices. Coordinate and communicate with impacted organizations.
· Perform periodic KPI reporting to support capacity planning
· Develop documentation to include systems architecture, maintenance and operations procedures
· Manage hardware and software load balancing technologies
· Scripting via PowerShell, VB and batch files
· Follows ITIL framework / best practices
· Implement solutions to optimize the infrastructure operations, and for conducting research and development to ensure continual innovation as needed
Qualifications
Education/Certifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related field preferred
· Microsoft, VMware, Cisco UCS, ITIL/EXIN, CompTia certifications preferred
Experience
· At least 5 years of experience designing and maintaining servers and systems’ infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
· Enterprise licensing models and annual true-up reporting
· Microsoft Technologies: Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, MECM, IIS, SQL Clustering, Client Operating Systems
· Virtualization technologies: VMware
· Business needs and requirements development.
· Experience with IT Operations Process models
· Experience with requirements analysis, systems design, full lifecycle development/management
· Strong experience in hardware engineering, performance analysis, engineering, and data center operations including standup and maintenance.
· Experience with systems security analysis, controls design and implementation
· Understanding of networking technology fundamentals; routing, switching, firewalls and wireless technology.
· Understanding and demonstrated experience with Active Directory Domain Services; ADUC, ADSS, ADFS, DFS, GPOs, DHCP and DNS.
· Understands purpose, use and implement SSL and other encrypted technology
· Experience in the 3PL; warehousing (WMS), transportation (TMS), Omni-channel, and fulfillment industry is preferred
· Experience in warehouse systems and bar-coding technologies including portable scanning and label printing equipment is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to travel up to 10% to provide site support as needed
· Knowledge of Enterprise Architectures
· Knowledge with Change Management processes
· Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
· Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.
· Demonstrates strong problem solving / troubleshooting abilities
· Demonstrates ability to create scripts to solve business needs and challenges
