Responsibilities


Job Summary

This job is responsible for providing ongoing and in-depth Epic support throughout CHI Franciscan Health (CHI-FH) ambulatory clinics and the inpatient settings to assure that healthcare providers and other end users (employed and community providers) receive timely and targeted training designed to maximize full Epic system/application utilization in meeting operational needs and patient care standards. An incumbent regularly rounds on designated work sites to establish and maintain proactive communications with stakeholders regarding challenges/needs/issues, gain a solid understanding of associated root causes and recommend/facilitate effective solutions/resolutions based on informed Epic expertise (within scope of position).

Work also includes:

  • Developing/delivering on-site Epic training through learning labs, webinars, demonstrations and hands-on learning events;
  • Serving as point-of-contact for Epic-related questions/issues and collaborating with stakeholders to identify/document Epic-related issues/needs/requirements;
  • Providing Epic go-live support for end users, including new provider on-boarding, acquisitions, new build training/re-training, system updates;
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of current and future Epic functionality;
  • Researching, troubleshooting, escalating and/or resolving issues in accordance with established protocols;
  • Coordinating/delivering system-focused re-training after implementation of application modifications/upgrades and/or new workflows/processes or in response to identified system-critical issues. Work also includes maintaining the readiness of support tool-kits, assembling training materials, generating status reports on training sessions and participating in associated quality improvement processes. Considerable travel is required to multiple work sites for meetings and classes.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Credential Trainer certificate and three years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. Work experience in a health-care related environment, including providing on-the-job training relating to the Electronic Health Record (EHR), is required. LPN or MA preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Requires current and maintained “Credentialed Trainer” status in at least one Epic application as attained through the Epic Training Leadership Team at hire or within six months of hire in the position.
