SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Tactical Navigation Technician Subject Matter Expert that has technical authority in US Navy Trident submarine navigation electronic systems design, installation, upgrade, repair, and certification.


Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides support to government representatives for Tactical Navigation equipment.
  • Recommends best practices and develops solutions to difficult technical problems.
  • Reviews technical and design documentation and supports engineers in the development of test plans and procedures for equipment/system certifications.
  • Prepares status, progress, and final reports for projects, describing the results of field experiments and/or inspections.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Engineering technology or technical training in US Navy navigation equipment and systems.
  • Ten (10)+ years of progressive shipboard and/or lab experience performing “hands on” work in support of:
    • System requirements
    • Operational requirements
    • Test and evaluation
    • Training in the production, integration, installation, repair, troubleshooting, operation, or maintenance of government or commercial electronic systems or equipment
  • Eight (8)+ years of hand-on experience with US Navy Navigation equipment and systems.
  • US Navy submarine experience required.
  • Preferred: Experience as instructor in Trident Schoolhouse.
