Job Summary:

Technical Business Analyst position is responsible for supporting the development of functional and non-functional business requirements; working with Product Owner(s) & Management to understand business strategy and translate into product requirements. The focus area for this position will be focused on the Pet Cloud and related applications.

This role will work collaboratively across the organization to develop and manage the roadmap for the applications supporting pet parents across IPG insurance brands. Other job duties include recommending and evaluating the user interface (UI) design and user experience (UX), documenting data and testing procedures, and reporting findings. This role will involve regular communication with the technology team, external development teams, management, and other stakeholders. You will also provide user support, troubleshooting, issue tracking and training for end-users. This role carries the expectation to absorb and retain complex functional and technical information quickly.

Job Location: Remote work is not available in AK, MT, HI (US) and Quebec, Nunavut, NW Territories, Yukon (Canada)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify user needs through various means such as customer feedback, application logs and metrics and user interviews.
  • Understand and analyze business requirements via frequent interaction with developers, stakeholders, and product management.
  • Propose, evaluate, and analyze solutions to resolve the identified customer problems.
  • Write user stories & feature requirements for the product backlog.
  • Maintain technical specification documents as required for the development effort.
  • Assist day to day activities supporting the business by keeping an eye on technical ongoing issues and helping troubleshoot them.
  • Coordinate regular release activities with engineering teams.
  • Participate in Scrum events (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective).
  • Functional validation of developed features and enhancements
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical business analyst on software development projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar relevant experience
  • Prior experience working in an Agile Scrum software development environment.
  • Prior experience with requirements management for software projects preferably B2C applications
  • Strong external vendor and internal stakeholder communication skills—both written and spoken
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with strong analytical, problem solving and project management ability.
  • Ability to organize project collateral and track task status.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with rapidly changing deliverables and priorities.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Agile workflow tools, and cloud-based business applications
  • Basic knowledge of SQL to extract data is a plus.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency to meet all defined deliverables.
  • Must be able to effectively work with and communicate with coworkers at all levels.
