Overview:
Performs the Product Owner role per the Agile methodology for one or multiple products, evaluates product feature needs in collaboration with Product Management, defines and documents application systems/programming/technology requirements (e.g., new, enhancements or maintenance) based on input from various stakeholders, and assists in the prioritization, development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost effective application solutions. Functions as liaison or main point of contact between Development and Product Management and clients (end-users or other business departments).
Responsibilities:
  • Identifies business requirements and recommends or devises system and programming alternatives and specifications.
  • Prepares systems flow charts and logic diagrams to describe existing and proposed operations.
  • May assist with the coding, debugging, and documenting of programs.
  • Works to resolve business issues through the effective use of both systems and data.
  • Understands the functional aspects of screens, data, and the general operations of the department.
  • Helps to determine project priorities, systems design, and feasibility.
  • Acts as a liaison between Development and other business departments.
  • May provide guidance to other Business Analysts and may function as the lead on projects.
  • Presents findings, recommendations, and specifications in a variety of formats and to various levels within the organization.
  • Maintains/enhances technology expertise, keeping current with evolving systems analysis, programming, and database technology.
  • Clarifies product requirements with various stakeholders and documents them using agreed-upon mechanism.
  • Reviews issues filed by customer, triaging them, assigning them to the correct team, prioritizing them, and providing status updates to customer.
  • Guides customer and all stakeholders to provide correct level of details in new requirements; fill in the gaps and add details to communicate those requirements to development teams.
  • Check the quality of output from the development sprints to ensure they meet the requirements.
  • Perform all the typical tasks of a Product Owner, as defined by Agile-Scrum methodology and its custom implementation within SBS
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum three to five years experience in business/systems analysis and application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience of Product Owner role and Scrum certification highly preferred
  • General to in-depth understanding of business processes.
  • Knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task successfully.
