Custom Processing Services provides contract manufacturing/toll processing services to a wide variety of industries. Specialized processes center on particle size reduction using a number of methods including jaw crushing, pulverizing, micronizing and media milling. Additional services such as flash drying, surface treatments, blending, dispersing, and packaging are also available. The Processing Pros provide new product development assistance from R&D concepts through their commercialization. In addition to CPS's technical grade facilities, a state-of-the-art, dedicated building is available for cGMP processing.

Technical Sales Engineer

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Anticipated start date January 2023

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business development representatives and customers to determine if CPS is able to realize the customer’s new product goals
  • Create saleable trial proposals with clear objectives that both the customer and CPS can agree upon
  • Maintain a full understanding of CPS’s capabilities and equipment functionality
  • Manage the trial process which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Complying with all safety and ISO requirements and regulatory authorities, including first-line safety review of all new materials, products, and processes
    • Assuring all areas participating in a trial have what they need to be successful in the execution (this includes training!)
    • Performing and/or overseeing all tasks needed pre-trial such as receipt of trial material, training of associates, set up of equipment, etc.
    • Creating or overseeing the creation of all required documentation for a trial including, but not limited to process documentation and work instructions
    • Performing and/or overseeing trial wrap-up for a full understanding of successes and opportunities
  • Ensure a positive customer experience
  • Provide professional and unbiased feedback on peer performance for the purpose of continuous improvement
  • Other related functions as needed to support the overall business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, process, or materials engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline is required
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office required; QuickBooks preferred
  • Familiar with general equipment mechanical assembly, disassembly, and cleaning, as well as changeover processes, theories, and method improvements
  • Exceptional documentation, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with root cause analysis processes
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified organization preferred
  • Minimal travel required
