Requisition Summary
Plant assembly and manufacturing role, desktop office role, and remote site desktop support of PCs, laptops, and VOIP phones. Mobile devices such as iPhones and Windows Mobile/ Windows CE data collection devices. Peripheral device support including network printers, barcode printers, barcode scanners, network time clocks, various small and large format monitors, and other USB attached hardware used in manufacturing or at the desktop level.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Lead or participate in technical projects specifically related to manufacturing plant enterprise equipment and systems.
- Ensure that plant equipment and systems are updated and running appropriate versions of hardware and software applicable to current manufacturing standards and business initiatives.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems that affect the plant manufacturing processes.
- Document, review, and publish support procedures that address key IT manufacturing functions and processes that will be used by IT employees to install, remediate, and support plant manufacturing systems.
- Actively update and ensure that critical IT systems on the plant floor are backed up to meet service levels / system uptime.
- Monitor and maintain service levels related to incident reports and service requests – taking lead role to ensure that service levels are met.
- Participate in reviews and discussions of IT standards and procedures.
- Perform regular audit and analysis of IT business systems linked to key indicators to insure compliancy to corporate standards.
- Interrogate, report, distribute and analyze plant manufacturing data stored in SQL databases, log files and mainframe systems.
- Work with third party software providers and corporate IT to fulfill software and hardware requirements that are directly related to key manufacturing process.
- Design, test and implement IT infrastructure in accordance with corporate IT change management.
- Respond to, lead and develop 1st and 2nd level staff to support manufacturing process during off-shift, off hours, and weekend support.
- Minimum of 10 years IT experience in supporting a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Demonstrated and developed organization skills
- Strong knowledge of Transact SQL including ability to analyze SQL data, Stored Procedures, Views, and Functions within Microsoft SQL Database.
- Strong knowledge Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10).
- Strong knowledge of script languages such as VBScript, PowerShell, and DOS batch scripting.
- Strong problem-solving knowledge covering a wide breath of IT Systems including but not limited to the following technologies: TCP/IP protocol, 802.11x wireless technologies, Bluetooth, barcode scanners, label printers, and manufacturing data collection systems.
- Drive for results and demonstrate leadership in providing innovation utilizing available technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision in critical uptime manufacturing setting.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree (MIS Degree or degree in another related computer field)
- Preferred: Microsoft Administrator Certification or Similar. A+ Certification or Network + Certification, Preferred: Dell Hardware Certification on Desktops and Notebooks
- Strong understanding of following: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, 802.11x, Bluetooth.
- Drive for results and demonstrated ability in providing innovation utilizing available technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
