Triumph Electronics & Control is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 530 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.
We are currently seeking an Engineering Test Technician to support our Mechanical Assembly and Test Lab. In this role, you will assist project and product support engineering teams with the development, product support and product improvement program execution. You will assemble and test various components under the direction of the engineering prototype department team lead and engineering staff. Responsibilities
- Review project instructions, process sheets, process specifications, technical drawings, component maintenance manual and other documentation to ascertain assembly methods, test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problems and repair processes.
- Assemble, disassemble and test new products in engineering development, legacy product improvement units, or modified mechanical components and assemblies. The products may be, but are not limited to hydromechanical fuel controls, fuel pumps, actuation systems, thermal control systems, pneumatic systems, and refrigeration systems.
- Set up test stands per schematic diagrams to run development, operational, and performance tests on prototype and legacy improvement units. Document assembly, disassembly and test history; as well as lessons learned, and hardware problems found during the assembly and test process.
- Conduct tests of units and components under operational conditions using standard test equipment to obtain data for development and test.
- Utilize standard inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height stand, indicator, etc. for assembly, test, and engineering investigation documentation. Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
- Three years or more of experience with mechanical assembly and development testing of new products; experience within aerospace a plus.
- EPA 608 refrigeration systems certification or the ability to acquire the certification within six months preferred.
- Ability to efficiently isolate problems and drive root cause.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a cross functional group and strong team player.
- Experience using MS Office Suite.
