General Description / Primary Purpose
This position is responsible for monitoring components of the University data networks, client/server systems, and associated peripheral equipment. This position is also responsible for monitoring the telecommunications network from UNF to CFRDC, UNF to NERDC, and Local Area Networks that are centrally managed by Information Technology Services. This position works on the day shift (i.e., 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday) of Information Technology Services Data Center.
Essential Duties
Job Function
25% – Monitors components of the University data networks, monitors the telecommunications network, and monitors all centrally managed servers and hosts. 25% – Monitors production backups and checks for error conditions, taking the appropriate action to log in such error conditions and notify the appropriate staff members to resolve such errors, according to current UNF Information Technology Services procedures. 15% – Monitors computing equipment, environmental conditions, and the UPS System. When problems occur, they are logged in and either corrected or reported to the appropriate vendor or University personnel. 25% – Supports campus-wide switch port/wall jack database. 10% – Assists in the development and enforcement of operations standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications
A high school diploma and three years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
