GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


In this challenging role, you will support the Emergency Medical Technology department at Greenville Technical College by assisting students to acquire knowledge, psychomotor skills and effective skills necessary in preparation for taking the national registry exam and practicing as an entry level practitioner in Emergency Medical Technology. Duties may include any or all of the following:

  • Provide classroom and laboratory instruction evaluation
  • Provide clinical supervision
  • Assist in evaluation preparation in curriculum development evaluation
  • Participate in student recruitment, advising and retention
  • Maintain accurate records and submit reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in college, division, department, and committees
  • Maintain competence through continuous professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Adjunct faculty serve as assistants to the academic program director, primary instructors or lab coordinator. individuals will be under the direct supervision of the academic program director (APD) or indirect supervision of the APD via the primary instructor or lab coordinator. instructional responsibility will involve independent functioning and professional discretion. the individual will have the authority to counsel students and provide direction and correction to them throughout the learning process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An associate degree; and/or credentialed as an EMT paramedic in SC; demonstrated competencies in emergency medical technology, and a valid drivers' license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree preferred or equivalent field experience, along with currently being registered as a paramedic with SC DHEC EMS and NREMT. Possesses current knowledge and technical skills in the field of pre-hospital care equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in pre-hospial emergency care and has the ability to convey knowledge to adult learners strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals. Possesses computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office employee should gain the above listed skills through the natural progression of the work experience listed above.
