The Opportunity:
This position will cover the state of Missouri and will be based out of the factory warehouse in Decatur Illinois. The position will be responsible for sales activities and strategic sales plans to promote sales growth and customer satisfaction in the assigned territory. Sales success will result from developing and prospecting long term, profitable customer relationships through professional sales and service calls.
The Team:
The Territory Sales Representative reports to the Director of Sales for AGI’s Portable handling segment and in turn works with a dynamic team of Sales Representatives covering territories throughout the US. Together they will work collectively with customers, dealers and other Territory Representatives across AGI to meet the growing needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
The Territory Sales Representative will develop and execute strategic sales plans to promote customer satisfaction and continued growth. More specifically, the Territory Sales Representative will:
- Represent and market Westfield, Batco, REM and Hutchinson products and nurture the business relationships with current dealers. Ensure strong, continued business from AGI’s established dealer network and identify market opportunities for continual development.
- Achieve sales goals for all products in territory.
- Conduct dealer sales meetings and provide training to dealer personnel on AGI products.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with dealers to maximize market penetration of all AGI products. Establish a call program to take advantage of all opportunities within a designated area.
- Keep direct supervisor apprised of relevant information regarding sales opportunities.
- Provides information regarding competitive product and market developments.
- Represent AGI at regional trade shows and conventions, support preparation efforts and post show reports.
- Assist the Credit department with collections as required.
- Collect and maintain a database of AGI customers to achieve top level customer satisfaction.
- Maintain broad knowledge of AGI products and markets.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Economics, Marketing or equivalent work experience will be an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience in territory management.
- Previous work in the Short or Mainline Ag Industry is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have solid computer skills, possess excellent customer relation skills, active listening skills, excellent personal motivation, and pay great attention to detail.
- The position is required to travel 60-70% of the time within the region.
