GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Test Center Supervisor oversees and manages the test center for all Kirkwood locations. They are responsible for hiring, training, and supervising staff, and ensuring excellent customer service for students, faculty, staff, and external organizations. Providing accommodations for testing services. The Supervisor maintains a secure testing environment, implements and documents testing protocols, and ensures fair and equitable testing practices.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational and managerial skills, experience in hiring, training, and supervising staff, and is proficient in software utilization and data analysis. They should have independent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle pressure and deadlines.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and supervise daily testing operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to testing services.
  • Train and evaluate testing center staff, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and maintain testing center software, equipment and technology, including the test center scheduling software.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to provide testing accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of testing materials and student information.
  • Monitor compliance with testing center policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to testing services, including test results and usage statistics.
  • Coordinate and schedule testing services for various departments and programs across the college.
  • Establish and maintain the test center schedule based on testing volumes.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

  • Maintain professional relationships with other college test centers and tutoring services; internal and external testing organizations such as ACT, State of Iowa and other certification organizations.
  • Communicate effectively through written, oral and electronic means.
  • Manage a diverse variety of work duties efficiently, effectively and independently in an environment with regular interruption.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience working with community college students or similar population
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Candidate needs to be eligible and maintain eligibility to proctor 3rd party exams such as Accuplacer, Pearson Vue and FAA exams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS :
  • Previous Test Center Work experience
  • 2-3 Years as supervisor of a team.
  • Experience supporting students with accommodations
