Skagit Valley College (SVC) is accepting applications for a part-time Testing Center Proctor (Teacher's Aide 1) (not more than 15 hours per week) on the Mount Vernon Campus. This position acts as a public-facing resource in secure testing for students, faculty, and staff through GED, placement, and a variety of other testing.
This is a part-time, hourly position, typically working 15 or fewer hours per week during the period of Monday through Friday within business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work days and hours may vary based on the need of the program. The exact schedule will be worked out with the candidate selected for hire.

- Proctor computerized placement testing, paper and computer-based faculty and community-member testing, and GED to groups and individuals;

- Answer general questions about college testing services in person and via phone and email and make appropriate referrals to campus offices and community resources;
- Assist with maintaining manual and electronic filing systems and databases;
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently, quickly, and accurately in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with student records in accordance with FERPA as well as private testing company guidelines;
- Ability to maintain a calm, controlled, and supportive atmosphere under pressure;
- Computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new computer programs;
- Excellent phone and customer service skills;
- Proactive and a positive approach in working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds;
- Dependability and flexibility in scheduling work hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree and experience working in education and/ or administrative support
- High School Diploma/ GED and one year of experience working in education and/ or administrative support.
- Multilingual in English and Spanish, including the ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish at an advanced/fluent speaker level.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in a higher education setting;
- Experience proctoring standardized tests;
- Experience working with confidential records;
- Experience maintaining consistency of rules across multiple regulatory authorities.
Salary and Benefits:
- Rate of pay is $15.74 per hour.
- Eligibility for benefits is in compliance with state rules and regulations.

- Prior to employment, the candidate must pass a criminal background check;

- Completion of academic degree(s) will be verified through receipt of official transcripts at the time of hire.
