is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Director to join our team!

Full Time 32 hour position

Must have some weekend availability

The Therapeutic Recreation Director will be part of a dedicated team of professionals and embraces the values of quality customer service and compassionate care.

Job Duties:

· TRD must be creative and enjoy working with the elderly

· TRD works with residents at the bedside with specially designed activities.

• TRD assists with the transportation of residents to areas where programs are being conducted.
• TRD assists with the documentation of resident participation and progress
• TRD plans, organizes and directs recreational service programs designed to motivate, stimulate, and improve the quality of life for all residents.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• The TRD must have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• The TRD must have the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors.
• The TRD must be knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures.
• The TRD must display tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to adapt and modify work practices to residents based on whatever level at which they are currently functioning.
• The TRD must have the ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
• The TRD participates in continuing education and in-service training.

· EDUCATION:
B.A./B.S. in recreation or State Certification with at least one year of experience in Therapeutic Recreation.
