Job description

As the Training Coordinator, you will partner with the operations managers and department supervisors to develop and maintain training curriculum for all levels of qualifications for production employees in Manufacturing, Quality Control, Maintenance and Engineering. You will work with department supervisors to develop employee specific time-bound training plans for those employees identified for skills progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly milestone meetings with the trainee, trainer, and the supervisor to ensure the effectiveness of the training. Adjust training plan/ duration to stay on track.
  • Follow existing training protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Develop/update training videos and use as needed for training, leveraging external PPG resources whenever appropriate.
  • Attend weekly Training meetings with the corporate L&D group.
  • Ensure that all employees are current with PPG mandated learnings in Workday.
  • Perform Weekly Audits to ensure all departmental Tier 1 boards are current, displaying accurate information and all actions items are being completed on time. Discuss noncompliance with individual department supervisor (s).
  • Assist HR manager and Plant manager in developing an Onboarding Program and make improvements to it to ensure optimal employee experience.
  • With the help of the site HRBP, develop and ensure compliance to all items related to offboarding an employee. (Uniforms, badge, keys, personal items, communication, badge deactivation, PPG property retrieval related activities)
  • Will work onsite from 8 AM- 5 PM, however, flexibility to work a modified shift one day every other week or as needed (12 noon – 8 PM).

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Fluent in English, Bilingual in Cape Verdean Creole or Portuguese preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume discrete manufacturing.
  • Ability to maintain organization, maintain training schedule and compliance, coordinate training events, and implement project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Data analysis mindset and ability to provide reporting data to leadership teams.
  • Ability to collaborate and coach peers, provide feedback and updates of training related information and statistics.
  • Minimum education required is HS diploma with 2+ years of Industrial Production support experience.
  • College level education with 0+ years of experience.

You will work onsite at the Avon, MA facility. You will report to the Plant Manager.
