OES currently has an opening for a Transportation Construction Technician in our Milwaukee or Madison office. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work in Southeastern Wisconsin and Northeastern Northern Illinois on current and future WisDOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway or other local agency roadway and bridge construction projects. This full-time position will be responsible for construction oversight/inspection, materials documentation and testing, field measurements, daily diary entries, , and completion of final construction documentation, assisting with survey and assisting with completing design plans during winter construction shutdown periods. .

This position has strong opportunities for growth and advancement as we continue to grow our transportation engineering business line in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. We encourage highly motivated technicians that have a strong interest in advancing in the area of transportation engineering and construction inspection to apply. Candidates with surveying or construction staking experience are also encouraged to apply.

Minimum Requirements:

• Two summers/years field construction inspection experience working with WisDOT, Illinois Tollway, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), or with other private firms or public agencies. other state DOT.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience using Civil 3D, AutoCADD, OpenRoads or Microstation
• Established relationships with WisDOT, IDOT or Illinois Tollway consultants and staff
  • History of steady career advancement
  • Experience working with Microsoft Suite
  • E-Builder Certification, and IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities Certification or IDOT Sediment and Erosion Control Modules Certification
