Position Summary: TRIAGE MEDICAL ASSISTANT Job Description Primary purpose of the Triage Medical Assistant is to perform complex administrative and patient customer service duties requiring judgment and exceptional attentive care to patients. This position impacts and supports the department efficiency and productivity.

Essential Job Functions:

• Triage Medical Assistant Job Duties
• Triages incoming calls and determines urgent from non-urgent calls
• Transfers urgent calls and symptom-based calls to RN for assessment in timely manner a template will be available to help assess issues
• Inform patients of appointment dates and times as requested
• Communicate lab and other test results as specified by providers. Gives normal results.
• Assists patients with scheduling imaging scans and procedures
• Facilitate referrals to other specialties
• Refill medications per specific guidelines
• Educate and encourage use of Follow My Health portal for patients
• Actively participate in Value Based Care initiatives
• Clerical functions as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certification
• Minimum 2 years working as a Medical Assistant in fast-paced clinical environment.
• Excellent communication skills and organization

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5 :00 p.m
