Role and Responsibilities

Truck drivers are responsible for driving a commercial vehicle for extended hours to deliver and receive cargo safely and efficiently while abiding by all traffic laws. Ensuring safe unloading/loading and delivery at their destination. In-depth training may be required to prepare a Truck Driver for their daily duties. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Always make safety a priority.

· Maintaining all DOT logs and following all DOT regulations.

· Perform inspections of the vehicle prior to and following each trip and ensure assigned truck and trailer are well-maintained and in safe operating condition. Advising supervisor of any necessary maintenance, repair, or safety concerns as necessary.

· Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.

· Responsible for safely securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.

· Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.

· Transport load to assigned destination.

· Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with customers.

· Learn and know Custom Pipe policies and procedures, conducting oneself in a positive and professional manner, promoting team unity and continuity.

· Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive safely according to the weather/road conditions.

· Communication professionally with all customers, other employees, and supervisors.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to learn and improve to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· High school diploma or GED required. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of diploma or GED.

· No recent moving or driving violations.

· Read, write, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use direct-reading and measuring devices.

· Good manual dexterity, vision, hearing, eye-hand coordination and be physically capable of performing heavy work.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Class C CDL licence
• Ability to drive long hours.
• Good organization skills while maintaining proper delivery paperwork and driver logs.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment, such as electric lifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks is an advantage.
• Must be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator.

Additional Notes

· All drivers are subject to DOT background checks and drug testing.

· Satisfactory pre-employment drug testing is required.

· All applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation and Benefits

· After 30 days of employment, employee is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, vision, other voluntary benefits and 401(k).

· Vacation and sick pay accrual can be used once eligible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
