What you’ll be doing:

• As the Lead Operator you will be responsible for monitoring the flow and direction of all processes and must be able to guide and direct others
• Observe the transloading of product from railcar to truck by conveyor and ensure safe operation
• Operate a front loader, forklift and heavy "yellow" equipment
• Dayshift position, Mon thru Fri and may include weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
• The shift is 10 to 12 hours per day, subject to call
• Work individually and as a team
• Complete daily safety inspection of equipment and facilities to ensure safe operations
• Perform routine clean-up, housekeeping, and maintenance of facilities, equipment
• Perform other tasks as instructed
• Determined to always wear the appropriate and required PPE

Requirements of a successful Lead Operator

• Three years of experience in operation of front-end loaders and other heavy "yellow" equipment
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
• Ability to read, write, and understand English, follow written and/or verbal instruction, and possess basic math and computer skills
• Demonstrates worksite dependability by being punctual and present for scheduled work shifts
• Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times

Here are some physical requirements for this role:

• Work in an environment containing dust, hazardous noise and in hot or cold environment.
• Work on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time while performing duties which include walking, standing and lifting
• Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Climb on and off railcars and heavy equipment and tie processing equipment safely
