This position performs ultrasound procedures which are complex and elaborate to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Graduate of approved school and/or certification, RDMS (OB) and RVT certification.

2. CPR certification required.

1. Prepares and explains exams to patients.

2. Performs all exams that pertain to specialty area.

3. Maintains current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas in order to perform assigned duties.

4. Reports urgent findings to the physician immediately and discusses positive findings with the physician.

5. Completes other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families, and maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel, recognize and reinforce positive efforts of all coworkers and address personnel problems in a tactful and timely manner.

2. Analytical skills necessary in order to implement effective care and develop solutions to problems concerning patients’ mental and physical well-being.

3. Basic computer knowledge in order to document effectively.

4. Ability to be scheduled for work based on the operational needs of the hospital.

5. Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
