THIS IS A 1 YEAR DEPLOYMENT OVERSEAS.
The Unarmed Security and Custody Officer provides for the care and custody of the migrant population in accordance with the contract requirements. In addition, you may be responsible for coordinating recreational activities as well as the health and safety program for the non-protected population. Work schedules and tasks vary to meet the requirements of the facility that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year whether or not migrants are present at the facility. The ideal candidate must be able to follow general directions and follow client and MVM protocols and be flexible in taking on duties to maintain the facility at times when migrants are not on site.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional care and custody of the migrant population
  • May be responsible for coordinating recreational activities as well as health and safety programs to include fire safety, hygiene concerns, etc.
  • Other duties assigned may include administrative duties, and/or tending to cleanliness of building and grounds to include sweeping and mopping floors, picking up debris and emptying trash.
  • Employees may be assigned to overnight, weekends, or holiday shifts to support 24/7 operations.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in public or private security, law enforcement or U.S. Military related field;
  • Must be a United States Citizen who has resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years;
  • Must be 21 years of age;
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Passport;
  • Must have a valid Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration;
  • Possess strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
Must have a minimum one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:
  • The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public;
  • Must be literate and able to fully communicate and interpret written and verbal rules, regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials in English; and be able to compose reports;
  • Requires good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and an ability to render satisfactory performance, thorough knowledge of his/her position responsibilities, and;
  • Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and a language including but not limited to Haitian Creole and/or Spanish

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Successfully passing a background investigation

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have 100% mobility employees.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Up to 100% of the time
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 50-80% of the time.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 20-30% of the time.
Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time while monitoring cameras. Ability to leave desk may be limited to short times while on desk duty.
