The
Underwriting Assistant is responsible for providing set up and administration assistance to our underwriting team. You will work closely with our sales and underwriting teams. Organizational skills and attention to detail play a key role, as this position sets up and tracks all underwriting folders with account information. Come join us!
This position will be based in our Hamilton Square, NJ office. We offer a hybrid work schedule - 3 days in the office; 2 days remote.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Set up folders in our shared drive for all information received for new underwriting submissions
- Run census in Excel spreadsheets for each submission
- Log submissions into our underwriting system including benefits, reinsurance terms, and census information
- Communicate between Sales Reps and Underwriters to ensure all information is complete and accurate
- High School Diploma, Associates Degree, or Bachelor's Degree
- Prior office experience desirable
- Comfortable working with Excel spreadsheets - basic knowledge is ok, will train further
- We will consider recent college graduates interested in starting a career in the insurance industry; and candidates coming from other industries open to learn, we will train
- Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Must be a team player
