To perform this job successfully, an individual should be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must fall into one of the following categories: (1) have successfully completed the Skills Lab and fundamentals of bedside care portion of their RN program; or (2) have front line patient experience in a healthcare facility for 6 months or greater; or (3) have their current and valid CNA license. Must have a basic understanding of Medical Terminology. Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.

Under the direction of the Medical Surgical Director, assists with scheduling, patient charge audits and computer data entry. Will assist with equipment maintenance and repair, maintain inventory control and assume role of Scrub Technician as assigned. In the role of Scrub Technician is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served, i.e. Neo-Nate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric. Demonstrated the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development; and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these groups.

Must be able to work normal scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
