Upscale Brand Initiatives Manager

The Ascend Hotel Collection and Cambria brand represent a vital part of the growth strategy for Choice Hotels in the upscale tier category. As Choice successfully pushes into upscale it is vital that we enhance the business model, value proposition, infrastructure, and related processes. This position is responsible for leading and project managing the design and execution of the following high-level functions for Cambria Hotels and the Ascend Hotel Collection: sustainable revenue generation strategies and tactics, brand positioning and strategy in support of the growth strategies and supporting infrastructure changes to ensure optimal integration with the broader Choice organization. This position will also include activities that support business process optimization, vendor management, and project management.

Your Responsibilities
- Manage the execution of upscale business plans, programs, and brand strategy initiatives, and communicate progress of execution to Upscale membership team and key stakeholders. Activities include developing and managing projects, business and tactical plans and budgets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying project roadblocks, recommending corrective actions, presenting to internal and external audiences, and tracking performance metrics, as necessary.
- Design and build robust business performance tools working in collaboration with Upscale team members and appropriate internal stakeholders (Advanced Analytics Group (AAT), Corporate Strategy, Marketing and Distribution, etc.). Provide recommendations and insights on brand-level and portfolio performance, revenue opportunities and impact of changes in market trends, business levers and portfolio composition.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the portfolio performance and develop recommendations and initiatives to improve metrics.
- Develop reports and presentations for Upscale Executive Leadership meeting, Upscale management team meetings Owners Advisory Councils and Annual events and meetings.
- Identify and independently analyze key data sources that will provide foundational insights for the formulation of the strategy including industry and consumer trends, competitive landscape as well as internal performance metrics and capabilities. Develop business model scenarios, business cases and recommendations to allow for incremental and exponential growth of Ascend as well as increased brand recognition and market share.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5 years’ experience in program management, revenue generation activities and/or business process improvement. Hotel/Tourism experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Proficient in Tableau and/or SQL preferred but not required
- Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in project management skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate successfully with peers, and management
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
- Flexibility to changing priorities and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Self-motivated and self-managed

Your Team
This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Upscale Brands Performance Director and will collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Upscale Brand Initiatives Manager, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located directly across from the Rockville Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Right now, our associates in Rockville, MD are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
