USS Account Manager
Position Summary

Assist the Superintendent with management and administrative duties at the United States Steel Gary Works (USS) facility. Develop and maintain good customer relations with USS managers and cost analysts. Perform administrative duties, such as documenting scheduled work, data entry for payroll and billing, tracking customer Purchase Orders and job costs, invoicing, purchasing supplies, and managing inventory. Perform management duties, such as scheduling personnel, managing personnel, auditing jobs, and coordinating fleet maintenance activities to ensure a safe and efficient field operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule equipment and labor resources for emergency, current, and future work
  • Communicate schedules and expectations to personnel
  • Resolve conflicts with scheduling and personnel related matters
  • Maintain the electronic schedule and ensure accuracy of operations and billing information
  • Compare the planned work against actual work to ensure accurate billing and payroll
  • Data entry for payroll and billing into the TRACK software platform
  • Work with Accounting and employees to resolve payroll issues
  • Manage and track Purchase Orders and the job costs associated with each Purchase Order
  • Work directly with customer representatives to manage issues with Purchase Orders and billing
  • Analyze job costs to prepare and submit monthly reports to the customer
  • Generate monthly invoices and submit to USS procurement for approval and payment
  • Analyze gate logs to ensure employees are in and out of the plant on time and as scheduled
  • Communicate any safety concerns, personnel issues, or process concerns to Superintendent and work together to develop and implement a resolution. Include Corporate Management when necessary.
  • Maintain recordkeeping for compliance items, such as DOT, IFTA, and Safety Meetings
  • Coordinate fleet repairs and equipment movement with Penske Maintenance
  • Assist Superintendent and Supervisors with organizing crews and supplies and getting them to the job sites on time
  • Communicate and work with Safety, Accounting, and Human Resources as needed to ensure safety procedures are being followed, compliance with local and federal laws, managing personnel, managing payroll, and any other safety or administrative concern that may arise

Knowledge and Skills

  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills a MUST
  • Basic use of computers and Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to organize and analyze data
  • Ability to organize and track inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Ability to multi-task operational and administrative duties without losing focus or accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with direct reports, peers, employees, and customers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
