ReDiscover has an opening for a Van Driver to work full-time (40 hours a week) Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm at our location in Lee's Summit, MO.

Van Driver Overview:

Under the general direction of the Office Manager, the Van Driver performs job after receiving general instructions. Clients served are adults and their families in ReDiscover comprehensive substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation programs.

The Van Driver is responsible for providing transportation of clients in accordance with treatment guidelines, schedules for client transportation, communication with other van drivers, cleanliness of vehicles and vehicle repairs and maintenance. Such activities include providing transportation to and from treatment and outside activities, assisting the treatment team in insuring a safe and therapeutic treatment environment for clients and staff, and communicating client activities, needs and concerns appropriately to other members of the treatment team.

Services shall be provided in accordance with the policies and procedures of ReDiscover and the contractual requirements of the State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

In addition, the driver assists with facility related activities such as:

• Courier
• Light maintenance
• Clerical assistance
• Clients/passengers are transported comfortably and in a timely manner
• Routinely checks fluid levels
• Daily performs vehicle safety checks
• Fill fuel tank full as needed
• Records time and mileage on van routing sheet
• Records non-client mileage on proper form
• Works with Office Manager and administrative staff to help the program operation in a cost-effective manner
• Utilizes agency resources in a fiscally responsible manner
• Provides a welcoming atmosphere free of distractions
• Demonstrates respectful and appropriate language and non-verbal behavior.
• Actively seeks to resolve issues, problems and concerns
• Shows sensitivity to and appreciation of issues related to age, religion, ethnicity, race, socio-economic status and sexual orientation and gender
• Accepts and responds appropriately to feedback from clients, staff, supervisors and referral sources.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Some mechanical aptitude is needed
• Knowledge of streets and highways in southwestern Jackson County is also desirable

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

• Must maintain a valid chauffeur’s Class E drivers license.

SKILLS:

• The ability to work with all persons with multiple challenges (mental illness, substance abuse, physical challenges, developmental disabilities, etc.
