Job Summary
The Vantage Group is looking to fill the position of Regional Service Center (RSC) Operations Manager who will primarily be responsible for overseeing the operational management of Vantage’s RSCs in Chicago, Miami, LA and Dallas. Vantage has established RSCs in key geographies around North America to serve the elevator industry with convenient local availability of Vantage’s products and outstanding customer service and technical support. The RSCs act as the local ‘store-front’ for Vantage enabling same day parts pick-up and shipping in addition to serving as the hub of local Vantage commercial activities (e.g. customer events, technical training, product demonstrations, etc.).
Responsibilities of this role will include leading a team of customer service, sales and warehousing personnel across four locations to provide excellent customer service and delivery of Vantage products. The Operations Manager will partner with the local teams to oversee site operations which include: receiving, warehousing, customer transactions and distribution operations. This role will also be responsible for inventory management and planning across the RSCs. Vantage is rolling out an e-commerce distribution strategy and the Operations Manager will assist in designing, implementing and managing the distribution and fulfillment operating procedures. Responsibilities will also include coordination with site support vendors, delivery schedules for truck drivers, and RSC maintenance schedules. The Operations Manager must have a minimum of a high school degree and 5 years of experience managing a warehouse and distribution environment (preferably multi-site).
Job Duties
- Inventory Planning and Management
- Design multi-site inventory stocking and management strategy.
- Manage and continuously improve utilization of ERP (Infor Visual) for inventory transactions, receipts, transfers, reconciliations.
- Monitor inventory levels on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure strategically optimal levels based on lead time, reorder points, and safety stock.
- Control all warehouse inventory levels by managing and conducting physical cycle counts and reconciling data in Visual ERP system.
- Lead certain Vantage and external supplier management communication.
- Warehouse Operations
- Maintain a safe environment at all times through management of regular preventative and predictive maintenance and enforcement of Vantage safety protocols across all sites.
- Develop and implement key Standard Operating Procedures within areas of responsibility.
- Ensure that physical condition of warehouses are well-maintained with new layouts of racks, adding new product to valid locations, and removing obsolete, overstock or replaced items.
- Maintain communication with all departments including purchasing to continue a steady workflow to all departments. Maintain communication to Vantage management on all issues pertaining to the RSCs.
- Ensure maintenance, registration and inspections/compliance for all warehouse equipment.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures.
- Customer service leadership
- Provide and model excellent customer service to all Vantage RSC customers.
- Responsible for managing the local customer service associates who manage customer orders.
- When on site, enter customer orders, search for existing orders in our system, get proper documents from the customer and ship out orders being pick up.
- Manage checks and money.
- Identify and resolve all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, usages, and loss.
- Maintain clean and attractive office, product display and customer lounge areas at Vantage RSCs.
- E-Commerce Fulfillment Management
- Assist Vantage leadership with the design and implementation of efficient e-commerce fulfillment operating procedures.
- Manage relationships with key third party logistics providers.
- Implement and track key performance indicators for e-commerce fulfillment.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required. Associate Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years managing a warehouse and distribution environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Willing to both lead and roll-up sleeves to get the job done.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment, multi-task, and handle multiple priorities.
- Experienced in designing, implementing and managing key performance indicators for warehouse operations.
- Ability to effectively partner with commercial leadership at each RSC
- Knowledge of Inventory Control and Shipping /Receiving Software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with designing and managing e-commerce fulfillment operating procedures preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn additional internal software tools (e.g. ERP, point of sale systems.)
- Foreign language skills, including Spanish, are a plus.
