The Creative Team at MoMA brings together specialists in marketing, content, editorial, design, and digital product, driven by finding new ways to bring the Museum’s mission and message to life and by building meaningful relationships with new and existing audiences globally. Through this work, we create moments that support the Museum’s mission statement and support the financial sustainability of MoMA by strengthening the earned revenue streams of the Museum.
MoMA is currently accepting applications for a Video Producer. Reporting to the Senior Video Producer, the Video Producer plays a key role in video projects across MoMA. The Video Producer, Senior Video Producer, and Video Production Manager comprise a vital team within the Content team, and work with curators, conservators, educators, External Affairs, and other Museum departments to create compelling original video content for a range of audiences, leveraging MoMA’s existing library of content when applicable.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Works with Senior Video Producer, Managing Editor, and Editorial Manager to set video strategy and budget. Makes, executes and exercises independent judgment about video and content strategy and policies.
- Serves as the day-to-day lead for ongoing video series, and ensures that video content is delivered on time and within budget.
- Oversees certain video projects from start to finish, including preproduction, production, and postproduction, working closely with the Senior Video Producer and Video Production Manager.
- Along with AV team, coordinates live-streaming of events, performances, and symposia, and oversees the selection, circulation, and reuse of short extracts as needed.
- Works closely with Digital Marketing Manager on appropriate clips/formats for sharing video assets on social media.
- Secures rights/clearances for video and works with Editorial Manager and Design team on video end cards.
- Actively researches user-generated content and new and popular formats, and enables creative reuse of assets by maintaining standards, tools and templates, and fair-use guidance.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises freelance staff and crews.
- Manages uploads, posts, and maintains best practices for distribution on YouTube.
- Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in film or another creative discipline, and five or more years experience producing a variety of short-form video content or equivalent.
- Proven editorial, creative, and technical flair in the production of short-form video with experience in all stages of production including development, preproduction, conducting interviews, and postproduction a plus.
- Knowledge and proficiency in standard editing and post-production software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, etc.).
- Experience with shooting, editing, and post-production of video a plus for management of freelance collaborators.
- Knowledge of YouTube and social media storytelling formats.
- Experience developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets for video.
- Excellent planning, project management, and communication skills, with proven experience in managing concurrent projects.
- Enthusiastic ability to work proactively, collaboratively, and effectively under pressure with a wide variety of Museum staff and outside partners.
- Interest and knowledge of art preferred.
- Fully vaccinated with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and/or the World Health Organization authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis).
Salary Range: Minimum of $80,000 to a maximum of $95,000 per annum
