Market America, a Global Product Brokerage and Internet Marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Events for our Events & Travel Team.
The Events Vice President manages all components of corporate events and multi-media projects, including strategy, development, planning, implementation, budget, and staffing. Supervises and supports a diverse work force, Setting goals and performance expectations for the team. Manages employees work loads and schedules, budgetary controls. Sets goals and performance expectations for the team. Addresses employee or customer concerns and/or elevates to the Management team. Trains and assists employees in department.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skillset
- Plan, organize, and communicate all activities and goals of the Events department
- Executes leaderships vision to increase brand awareness and event experiences
- Primary lead on conventions and conferences, executes all details
- Serve as a senior technical and creative leader
- Works with executive team on Event presentations and videos
- Plans and Implements streaming technologies for online and hybrid events
- Coordinates with multiple teams across the company to streamline event resources and efficiencies
- Analyzes opportunities and accommodations, and evaluates event location and dates to present to leadership
- Works with leadership on event agendas, dissertations, layout, time allotment, and equipment to meet objectives
- Determines audio/visual needs for an optimal visual and audio experience
- Handles escalated issues to provide effective resolution
- Ensures proper arrangements for presenters’ needs
- Prepares and monitors budgets for all events, and approves expenses according to budget
- Negotiates and approves vendor contracts for cost-effectiveness
- Partner with the Marketing, Sales & Multi-Media groups
- Lead other projects as needed; assist in Company projects as needed
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field required or equivalent
- Ten years’ experience of high level/high volume event planning
- Experience in managing various levels of employees with different educational backgrounds, work style habits and employment histories
