JOB DESCRIPTION

Serve meals while creating and fostering a warm, caring, and friendly atmosphere for residents of our senior living facility.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take orders, explain daily specials, and serve residents ordered food and beverages
• Ensure proper table settings before and after each meal
• Remove dishes from completed courses
• Communicate with residents during the meal to determine satisfaction
• Keep service area clean and tidy at all times. Scrape and stack dishes as directed. Wipe down chairs and change table linens
• Reset tables completely with silverware, napkins, cups, saucers and condiments
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families and co-workers
• Report to work in a clean, pressed uniform for each shift
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English
• Valid Food handler’s card must be obtained within first week of employment
• Ability to work well with others and follow directions
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to respond effectively in an emergency or crisis situation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, sit and stand on feet for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Job offer is contingent on the following:

• Must pass background check (or have approved exemption)
• Must pass drug test, pre-employment physical and TB test
